Ms. Devan Southerland – Community Engagement Associate

Devan Southerland is a native Baltimorean with a solid history of community outreach, volunteerism and advocacy.

Dedicated to ensuring access and visibility to underserved populations, Devan has experience supporting local and state government agencies as well as nonprofit & grassroots organizations. Devan is a member of the Baltimore City Commission for Women and currently serves on the Health Equity and Education Committee

Ms. Southerland has a Master of Science in Human Services Administration from Coppin State University; a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park; and a Certificate in African-American Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park.

At Harbor, Devan manages the Joseph Haskins, Jr. Center for Community and Economic Development, a 6,000 square foot co-working space for entrepreneurs; provides technical assistance to new and potential Haskins Center members; supports grant research and application opportunities.
