Our Mission

Our work at the Harbor Bank of Maryland Community Development Corporation (Harbor CDC) is to accelerate development in underinvested communities throughout Greater Baltimore. In partnership with other community organizations and businesses, we provide a wide range of capital solutions, lead technical assistance to small businesses and startups, convene key community stakeholders for major development projects, and improve financial literacy. We are proud to help drive job growth and enhanced health and prosperity in the communities we serve.

Our work is not exclusively about the bottom line, but also about creating stronger communities and empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs and community development leaders.

Our History

Founded in 2001, the Harbor Bank of Maryland Community Development Corporation is a 501(c)3 509(a)2 public charity and a U.S. Treasury Certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). We are an affiliate of Harbor Bankshares Corporation, the parent company of The Harbor Bank of Maryland.
